A Stableford league is a season standings that adds up each player's Stableford points across the counting outings, usually keeping only the best N rounds, and ranks the highest total first. Every round is worth its points, not its finishing position.

How a Stableford league works
Stableford awards points per hole against net par: 2 for a net par, 3 for a net birdie, 1 for a net bogey, 0 for anything worse. A round has a points total, typically between 28 and 40 for a well-handicapped player. A Stableford league takes that total from every counting outing and adds them up.
Unlike an order of merit, a league does not care where a player finished on the day. A 38 that came second is worth 38, and a 34 that won a thin field is worth 34. This makes the league a measure of consistent scoring rather than of winning, and it is why most clubs run one alongside their points standings rather than instead of it.
Because a full season can have twenty outings and nobody plays all of them, a league almost always counts a player's best N rounds. Eight of twenty is common. Without a cap the league rewards attendance more than golf.
What counts as a round
A round needs hole-by-hole scores to earn Stableford points, because the points are computed per hole. A card entered as a gross total only has no real per-hole data; Parful marks such a round as having no Stableford points and skips it. It is not counted as zero, which matters: a zero would drag a best-N average down, a skip simply does not appear.
Every outing on Parful is scored for Stableford as a secondary statistic, regardless of the format played that day. A stroke play medal, a Texas scramble and a Stableford competition all feed the league with the player's own Stableford points, which is what lets a league run across a whole mixed season. Team formats where the player has no individual card contribute nothing.
Ties and ordering
Two players on the same total are separated by the tiebreakers the club lists, applied in order. Most wins compares the best single round as a proxy for wins; best single result compares the highest counting round; latest result compares the most recent round; head-to-head counts the outings both played and asks who scored more in more of them; count-back compares counting rounds best against best, then second-best against second-best, until one is higher.
If nothing separates the two, the position is shared. The name order in the table is for display only and never awards a place.
How Parful runs it
A Stableford league on Parful is a standings table with the Stableford sum method. The admin sets the counting rounds cap (or leaves it empty to count everything), picks the tiebreakers, and either confirms the outings that count or lets every finalized outing that matches the standings filters count automatically.
Each player's row shows total points, rounds played, and a per-round breakdown naming the outing, the date and the points. With a cap set, the points column is the sum of the counting rounds while the rounds-played figure still reports every round contributed. Standings scoped to a division rank only that division's eligible members.

- Ivan's Nov 1 card was entered as a gross total only, so it has no Stableford points and is skipped rather than scored as 0.
- Jo played exactly three rounds, so nothing is dropped and every round counts.
- Had the club listed best single result as a tiebreaker, Jo's 40 would beat Ivan's 38 and Jo would be second alone.
Common variants
- Best N of M
- The usual form: each player's best N rounds from the M outings in the season. Available on Parful as the counting rounds setting.
- Average points league
- Ranking by average points per round with a minimum number of rounds. Parful sums rather than averages; a best-N cap is the standard way to get the same effect.
- Points above handicap league
- Scoring each round as points over or under 36. Parful does not score this variant; because every round is offset by the same 36, the ranking is identical to the summed league when everyone has the same number of counting rounds.
