Run a golf society from the fixture list to the annual dinner

A golf society is a club without a course: the same members, a different venue every month, handicaps kept by the society itself and a season that ends with a dinner and a prize list. Parful Clubs is built for a recurring group, and a society is the clearest case of one.

Before the season: Import the roster from the association export, check the flagged duplicates, set a Seniors section for the Tuesday group, and create twelve outings with a course and tee time each. Each Sunday: Registration opens Monday, groups are generated Friday, the tee sheet reaches the host pro shop at 06:00, and the members score from phones and run their own skins.
Knockout weekends: The round of matches is assigned to that Sunday’s outing, so the matches resolve from the cards and the public bracket page updates.
Captain’s day: A foursomes competition on the outing for the pairs race, winners read from the prize winners sheet at the bar. No individual side games, because the card belongs to the team.
After the last Sunday: Close out, print the prize list, the season standings and the attendance register for the dinner, and let the standing name the champion.

The roster, the handicaps and the fixture list

Import the roster from your association’s standard member export; likely duplicates are flagged before they split a member’s scoring record. Every member carries a handicap index, and the society’s own handicap engine revises it from the rounds played in Parful, so a society without official handicaps is not at a disadvantage. Sync with a handicap service exists for linked clubs where supported, and it is optional.

Each fixture is an outing: a date, a course and a tee time. The course brings its tees, ratings and slopes from a database of more than 30,000 courses, with a builder for anywhere it does not cover, so playing handicaps are worked out per course and tee on the day. Every outing scores gross, net and Stableford; a scramble, foursomes, match play round or the club championship type is a competition assigned to the day.

One scorer per group enters scores in the phone browser from a QR code, PIN or link. No app, no account. Gross, net and Stableford resolve from the same card, the live leaderboard moves as holes land, and the host club’s television can carry the board from the outing’s display link.

Side games belong to the players, not the committee. A signed-in member starts one from the outing page: skins, a Nassau, Wolf, Vegas, a birdie pool across the whole field and thirty more, counted gross, net or Stableford. A wager is optional and starts only once every affected player has accepted the terms, with a maximum-loss cap. Results come from the official card and freeze at close-out.

The order of merit and the annual dinner

Close-out is one action: the day’s prizes resolve, the standings move, statistics record, handicaps revise and the public results page goes live while people are still at the bar. Standings build from finalized outings only, so an outing that was never closed out moves nothing until someone finishes it.

The order of merit is a standing: points by finishing position, a Stableford league that sums the season, an eclectic or ringer across the courses, or your own points table. It can count a member’s best rounds rather than all of them, which is how a society forgives the two Sundays everyone misses, and divisions run their own races. A singles or doubles knockout runs across the season the same way, its matches assigned to the outings and resolved from the cards.

Worth knowing before you move the society across

Dues are tracked, not collected. Parful records who has paid and who is about to lapse, and sends reminders; take the money the way the society already does.
Inter-society matches against another society are not part of the product. Team cup weekends (two teams, sessions, a cup board) are enabled club by club during beta; ask before you announce one.
Moving mid-season is normal. Standings build from the outings finalized in Parful, so the race runs from the point you move.
